I don't understand it the webline cutscene

Peter develops the webline after inspecting a harpoon-like thing kraven's guys left behind. I don't understand the point of this cutscene. In the Spider-Man 1 DLC multiple cops Zipline on Spidey's web to the building hammerhead is in. Multiple cops at once. I don't think Spider-Man weighs more than 4-5 cops. Heck he's stopped a chopper with it and more. I know I'm nitpicking but the cutscene where he admires the tensile strength of kraven's harpoon-thing and integrates it into his webshooters feels very corny to me.
