Advice on slamming car doors

I have a young, self absorbed and kind of angry, family member who I told I have an issue and to please stop slamming the car door. But they just don't grasp the seriousness of my situation. It doesn't seem to be spiking my t, thankfully, but I'm worried about cumulative hearing loss and trying to avoid all loud noise as much as possible. Anyone else in a similar situation, could be car doors or whatever, where close friends and family just don't have a clue and continue their noisy behaviors. How do you deal with it?
