Need some advice
So I am a part time 3rd shift GSL. I work less than 30 hours per week, and when I'm not working I'm at home with my two kids all day. My normal schedule is 3 days a week maximum, but usually it's just been 2 days. This works well for my life cause I don't get alot of sleep for the nights that I work. This week I was scheduled 4 shifts consecutively. Monday-thursday night. I also had picked up Sunday night cause my leader basically guilted me into it since I couldn't cover the night before. (Someone else has called in and I couldn't cover). Knowing that adding Sunday on would put me at working 5 days in a row this week I decided that was too much for me and that I needed to try to give a few shifts up. I was able to get Tuesday and Thursday night covered. Well this week is Kwik clean and I thought it was on Thursday but it's actually today (Wednesday). I talked with my leader yesterday and told her that I was having someone cover my shift. I did say that If I came in that we could still have that person come in as well to do any extra cleaning tasks that they needed done. Putting us at 5 on 3rd. She said well let me look at labor to see if we can afford another and also that they were doing the cleaning meeting anyway so that there probably wouldn't be any cleaning tasks left over, therefore we wouldn't need anyone extra. She asked me if she could let me know later that day what her plan was and if there were any extra things to do. I was up all day after working running errands and never slept at all. I also never received a text nor call from her. My thought process was that there was no list left like she had projected and that they wouldn't need extra assistance. Therefore I figured it was okay for me to still have it covered and then I could stay home and get some rest. I let my 3rd shift coworkers know what was up. On paper at work it was still set for me to have it covered so I assumed everything was squared away. 10 pm rolled around and I still never received any kind of message indicating they needed me there. I wake up this morning to find out from some peers that my leader is very angry and mad that I didn't come in saying that she messaged me. I still haven't received anything or heard anything from her. Apparently there was a small list left for us to do They still had 4 people on, not necessarily the best team but they were well staffed. Our judging wasn't even scheduled until 3pm also so the small list that apparently needed done could've easily gotten done between that time. Apparently she said to one of my coworkers when they were leaving to let me know how angry she is at me.
I do understand where she is coming from, but when it comes down to it I feel this is just a miscommunication. I feel bad about it but at the same time I had my shift covered so idk what else to say. I work tonight and I'm nervous to go in honestly cause I feel like I'm going to be in trouble and I don't love that feeling. Please help with any insight.
