Bigfeet
In the world of Eo'rauk, Bigfeet refers to the people of my world that are descended from/related to Apes. They are also the only people who don't have a magical origin (except Giants). This consists of Humans, Halflings, Wilderfolk, Striders, and Giants.
Some of my world's Humans have traits reminiscent of speciecs like Neanderthals or Homo Erectus, although for the most part they look more like IRL Humans. They are the most populated and culturally diverse people in my world, spreading all over the globe. Their societies range from small tribes to great empires.
Halflings - named for their size in comparison to Humans - are isolated and very few in number. Although they originated in the tropical islands of the Shatterlands far to the East, they have since migrated and now live in the Florian Vale alongside Gnomes. They primarily live an agrarian lifestyle and keep to themselves, although their interactions with the nomadic Gnomes keeps them at least somewhatup to date with the news of the world.
Wilderfolk look more like upright Apes than actual Humans, being covered in fur and having protruding snouts with flat noses, as well as long limbs, narrow shoulders, and barrel chests. Despite their bestial appearance, they are a very intelligent people that often trade with and sometimes battle Humans. They also use tools like spears, bows, daggers, and slings to help with their hunter-gatherer lifestyle, along with clubs for defense. Although they are half a head smaller than Humans, they are much stronger, easily being able to kill a Human with just their bare hands. They are often found in the border regions between grasslands and forests.
Striders are also covered in fur, but have more Human-like faces and body shapes than Wilderfolk. They also have slightly longer hair than Wilderfolk and stand a good bit taller than humans. They tend to be very solitary, even isolating themselves from their own kin. They are the most primitive of the Bigfeet, only using whatever sticks and stones they happen upon as tools. Although they try to avoid conflict, they are often brutal and savage when actually in a fight. They prefer dense forests, primarily those that are cold and/or wet. However, there are a few populations that live in flat tundras, plains, and even deserts.
Giants are descended from ancient Humans who drank the blood of Titans, making them five times the size as a regular human. Like the Striders, they also prefer solitude and seldom hang out with other Giants. However, they are more advanced than Striders and Wilderfolk, being skilled in metallurgy and making tools, armor, and weapons out of a magical Cold Iron and Aurichalcum. They also are skilled in magic that ties into their literary culture, as they mainly use magic runes to bind spells to certain creatures, objects, or places. They are semi-nomadic, moving to a new area once every few years. They prefer to live in and around hilly and/or mountainous regions in various climates.
