Is horizon worth it

So recently I started playing new leaf again after 5 years from when I was a kid, I love that game to bits but I feel like I did everything I wanted to do and have a itch to play new horizon. but don’t know if its good because I hear mix appraise and complaints ? What changed is there any particular reason to play it or should I just wait for the next game if they release one?
