Warcry coop mode, battle #2 - Wildercorps+BlacktalonsVSNighthaunts

Narrative

Hi all, fellow Warcriers: here with another little battle report for OffMetaMusings coop mode.

A few nights ago me and a friend pitched a battle in wich 500 pts of Wildercorps Hunters and 500 pts of Blacktalons faced 120 wound-points of Nighthaunt, trying to take two prisoners (objective/tresure tokens) to safety from one short edge of the battlefield to the other.

The matched ended with a victory for the Nighthaunts, as just one prisoner reached safety (controlled by the Trailblazer): the two Blacktalons fought bravely and take a lot of “lives” from the ghostly host, but in the end it wasn’t enough.

In this second playtest game, i’ve constructed a battleplan searching for a little more difficulty, with two elites in the Nighthaunts and a “running” winning condition but with treasures rules (and a twist in favor for the “active” warband).

In the end, we’ve found that the coop mode as it is it’s perfectly capable to build a challenging game, and that tweaking winning conditions and twists (and, also, the enemies list) it’s a great way to make an unbalanced match.

Another thing that we’ve noticed it’s that probably splitting the warband in two halves (our idea, anyway, so that’s not a flaw in the rules) it’s not a very good thing to do: you lack sinergy and balance, in most of the cases.

You need to be careful. But anyway, it was a great night of gaming and a good first test for the other player!
