How and why is ok to include us tariffs for worldwide customers?

In their last crowdfunding chip theory games the company behind too many bones decided that is perfectly fine to include tariffs in the product price, result of this is to pass on tariffs to everyone.

How all this is different than including vat in the product price for any customer even if their country or state has none?
