I Fucked Up
OK. Not terrible, but I bought 16 iPad2 from Goodwill for $15 assuming that if only one worked, it would be worth it for my 92 year old mother to be able to get an Uber.
ALL OF THEM WORK PERFECTLY WELL. So I got 16 iPads for less than $2 each (including another $15 shipping).
The problem is that 12 of them are still tethered to the previous owners... and Apple will not help. Despite knowing the identity of the previous owners and despite my completely being willing to give my name and address to Apple and the previous owners.
Whatever... that's fine, It's bullshit wrapped in the guise of a "security protocol" but it is what it is.
The worst part is I can't put Uber on my four working iPads (the only reason I did this) Heck, I can't even download a fucking ireader.
WHY? Because Apple decided to not archive any old apps. Because I guess generating ewaste is better for the economy.
anyone know of a way to (A) use some kind of "high seas" third party software to wipe and reboot the old iPad?
OR... a place to find and download old apps for our iPad 2?
