Location: Florida. The Mess? Probate.

I just wanted to give a heads up that there are people who scroll this subreddit to prey on those who lost a dear loved one and are desperate for legal assistance with probate litigation.

This is especially prevalent in Florida where people will give illigitmate legal advice to gain trust, and even use the lawyers Florida bar number. They will not only try to say they are the lawyer, but will make Microsoft teams calls. They will tell you that fraudulent cases in probate can be reimbursed when someone takes a contingency case. They will try to show empathy towards your sadness, helplessness, and grief, and prey upon your weakness. They will go to great lengths to try to get you to send money and claim they are working individually from a law firm and will avoid and play that they are insulted when you are not stupid and want proof and verification of their identity from an official source.

It's been a weird couple of days, but if anyone knows a good contingency lawyer who is more than willing to call me from an official firm and wants to give justice to a situation where someone is trying to take everything away from someones children through more than likely a tax deed from what it looks like on the outside view without involving the beneficiaries in this process at all not informing beneficiaries with what is going on with anything or what is being discussed other than claiming homestead and using their lawyer as a wall when beneficiaries are more than open to work together even though they live out of state, I'm all ears. I've got the paperwork served to me and to put it clearly all time is valuable.

Lawyers shouldn't be allowed to violate Florida probate laws by encouraging this type of behavior from their clients but apparently it's somehow allowed.

I'm venting. I've contacted a few firms but please always make sure to verify with the bar and the firm directly that they are truly the person claiming to want to help. I am not a fool and the fact people like this scam those going through the worst time in their life are scum of the earth.
