YAMAHA DGX 670 VS YDP 165

🙋Question/Help (Beginner)

I know this question has been asked several times before and yet I can't seem to find a satisfactory answer to my usecase.

Context: I played keyboard in my childhood and teens. My teacher was a classical piano teacher, who used to teach me on his upright piano. I have been off of lessons for about 10 years, and wanting to re-start my piano journey, this time, properly, and not on a non-weighted keyboard. I have been on the piano market for some time now, and I have basically narrowed down to DGX670 and YDP165. Both completely different instruments, each with its own merits and demerits.

Initially I was fixated on DGX670. But going to my local Yamaha dealer and trying the YDP165 made me rethink and reconsider. For starters. I really like the GH3 action. It feels much better than the GHS action. It might be a novice's judgement, but it's just my personal opinion. Also the additional, acoustic like features that I saw on the YDP165 felt really appealing, as it is the kind of music I want to pursue.

That being said, I really plan to get an acoustic(at least pre-owned) within the next 4-5 years. Once I have settled a little with my life and career, and also re-jigged the piano basics a little bit. Also. At the moment, I am kind of on the move, so the portability factor of the DGX670 is really appealing. Also, having a keyboard with mammoth arranger capabilities like the DGX makes me feel it would be a nice secondary addition once I get an acoustic.

Given my current standing, it's a significant chunk of investment, which I don't want to end up regretting. I am really confused, so need suggestions and insights.

Also, I would like to add that I do not want the P series, Roland FP30X, FP-E50, so please don't bring them up. I might consider Kawai ES120, that I saw. But I am more inclined towards Yamaha as I really enjoy the CFX sample. Yamaha P525 is not yet available in my country, so I don't know about that. Suggestions apart from these are welcome, as I don't know of a lot of models. I would go and try them out, and see for myself.

Thanks in advance.
