Life Insurance After Unaliving Attempt
Hello. I (40F) am searching for approximately a $400k life insurance policy. However, the issue I have run into is that I had a suicide attempt in February 2023. I had reached an all-time low, was gambling a ton, lost my sister to a car accident and mother to a stroke. Needless to say, I survived and got help.
I have since been in therapy and taken the necessary steps to heal. I was on antidepressants and such. I am in a MUCH BETTER place now. I am also married now. I am the bread-winner in my relationship and would like to try to obtain a policy in case something were to happen to me.
When I've reached out to a few local agents, as soon as they find out about the suicide attempt in 2023, they shut me down. I am willing to do a life insurance policy that excludes suicide. Is there any hope that I may be able to obtain a policy given my stupid decision? I know I should have gotten a policy years ago, but at that time I did not have anyone significant in my life (no children and at that time no partner) that it made sense to get a policy.
