"HELP" need advice on multiple I485 situation
My wife's original I-485 was denied due to an issue with the I864, after talking to our lawyer he suggested we try the I-290B to reopen our case, we submitted our I-290B about 60 days ago. During this time we tried to escalate our case due to USCIS error which was denied and tried to reach out to our Senator who basically just came back to us from USCIS with the denial letter we already had. Feeling like it was less and less likely that we could push the I290B through in a reasonable time we decided to submit a new I-485 case with new supporting documentation and about a week ago we got the receipt notice for it and that case went into "being reviewed". Today we received a letter from uscis stating that they had approved our I-290B and were reopening our previous I-485 case. ( ͠° ͟ʖ ͡° )
So now we are in a situation where we are about to have two Concurrently processing I-485's. We have gotten a lot of mixed opinions about this, most people say there is no legal issue with it but it could be confusing to USCIS, Some say that we should withdraw one of the cases but not really which one would be better the newer case or the older case that has already been denied once, some say that we should leave both cases as is and try to get an interview to explain the situation.
I'm here in reddit because honestly i've talked to so many lawyers that all have conflicting opinions i don't know who to trust, and most of them couldn't tell me what evidence they have that supports that opinion because they haven't run into a situation similar to this before. Most don't even respond to the questions when its presented. I'm hoping there are a few people on here who have a better understanding of the process and can give me real advice that is backed by evidence, if not we will try to make the best decision we can with what info we have.
