Application status : Review in progress

I’m an ex employee looking to come back after a break but in a different role. Previously, I worked in tax, but I’ve applied to a few other positions—some are entry-level, while others align well with my tax background. I have a few applications that are currently in ‘Review in progress’ stage. It’s been almost a month, and I haven’t heard from any hiring managers yet. At this point, should I still hope for an interview, or would it be better to start applying elsewhere? How long did it take to hear from recruiting after your application was under review?
