Communication during dating
I am neurodivergent (ADHD) and have myself in an admittedly unhealthy situation but can’t find a way to just walk away.
I met a man 2.5 years ago. Immediately his communication was odd to me. He would not reply to txts - sometimes ignoring the last txt I sent and saying something else, or simply not reply at all. We’d go months without contact until one of us would reach out, usually on social media.
If I don’t ask him a question he likely would not reply to a text.
Last time I saw him he told me he thinks he may be on the spectrum, and that he has never had a negative thought or emotion towards me. When we’ve hung out he says things like he wants me to meet his friends, and he wants to do XYZ together. And then I won’t hear from him for weeks.
I’ve also noticed a squint he does with his eyes, and he seems to go on and on when he talks. And his inconsistent communication has been from the immediate start of meeting him. It also seems like he has a hard time initiating conversations.
I also have very poor reactions to his non communication, which adds only spice to the ordeal.
A. He’s a very manipulative man
B. Could he actually be autistic and struggles to form attachments?
I realize this is all a GUESS and no one will know. But hoping to hear from autistic folks on their experiences with communication and dating.
Hope everyone is safe and well.
