Never Fade Away (especially the cover) perfectly captures Cyberpunk

Honestly, it blows my mind how good this song really is for this game. The dystopian droning noise of the opening, the sound of a corporate machine that simply keeps on marching without any sense of beauty and harmony. And then it goes into this beautiful moment of light, harmonious and hopeful with the chorus. Only for it to end a moment after and be replaced by the noise of the dystopia once again. There is one last moment of rebellion against it later, but in the end, the beauty dies.

And the lyrics! Of course, it is a punk band and you would expect the criticism, the rage. But they just work out so perfectly and they fit the instrumental work like a glove. A singular "thing of beauty" in the middle of all this hopelessness.

So yeah, this song is incredible and one of the best gaming soundtracks of alle times, you can never change my mind.
