Are some people more biologically capable of healing their piercings? I am strugglingggggg
I swear my body just wants to reject any and all piercings I get. I've had my lobes pierced since I was a baby, and had my seconds and left helix pierced 17 months ago. My left second and helix healed just fine, but my right second was still getting infected after 6 months, so I gave up and took it out. I ended up getting my right conch pierced last June, and after religiously cleaning twice a day and not sleeping on it (I switched sides of the bed even and have a piercing pillow), I ended up taking it out 2 months ago because it was just awful awful awful. Continuously painful, swelling, etc.
3 weeks ago I went to a piercing studio and had a mid helix pierced and re-pierced my second, both on my right ear. And this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Friday night I was spraying my ears and noticed that my whole ear was red and very tender. I pushed the back of the mid helix forward and a *massive* amount of puss came out. I went to urgent care and got some antibiotics and took it out today. But I am just exhausted. This feels like it isn't for the faint of heart, and I just don't have the heart to go through the healing process.
I know most people show their finished ears, or right after they get them done, along with an occasional bump. But I feel like I am part of a minority that just can't get these things to heal. Am I overthinking this all?
