Can I get into Class 9 in a Delhi govt school without doing 8th?

Hey everyone,

I’m turning 16 next month and I want to get admission into a Delhi government school in Class 9. The thing is, I haven’t actually completed Class 8 — the highest class I’ve completed is Class 7, and I have the 7th marksheet.

I’ve heard that sometimes you can get into Class 9 with just a self-declaration or School Leaving Certificate. Has anyone here managed to get in without doing Class 8 officially? Do the schools check strictly or is there a way I can explain my situation and still get in?

I really want to continue my education and not lose more time. Any advice or shared experiences would be a huge help.
