Missed Single Payment - Impact to Finances
All - looking for advice here. I want to understand how a recent missed payment of $150 and a 96pt drop on my credit score (down to 700) will affect me moving forward if it is not deleted.
I have 2 auto loans and 1 mortgage but my accounts exceed my liabilities. I have a networth of over $2m and only a few hundred thousand in outstanding liabilities. I have a $100k credit limit (combined), 15 year history, 2 credit checks, and never missed a payment until this one $150 payment due to a system issue with the lender and the birth of my first born overlapping. It was 15d late and my credit dropped 96pts.
I am asking for a goodwill deletion from the lender; however, assuming it is not deleted I want to understand how it will impact my finances. For reference I own my home (purchased 3 years ago). I finance 1 vehicle (60% remaining) and lease another (1.5yr left on lease). I have no other loans as everything is paid for in cash. Credit usage is <5% for most items.
Will this affect insurance premiums during renewal? Will this affect my interest rate if I try to refinance my mortgage? Will this affect the ability to take out HELOCs or SBLOCs?
Thank you.
