Not sure if I made the right decision
I (29f) decided to start dating again after a really traumatic relationship that ended 11 months ago. I went on a date with a guy (29m) from my high school that I wasn't really close with 3 days ago. He randomly messaged me on Instagram and told me he always had a crush on me and asked me out.
The date was fine, I just think our personalities are very different. He's super introverted and I'm extroverted. But, the conversation flowed pretty well. I was enjoying talking to him but while I was in the bathroom at dinner, he asked for a check and a box for my food even though I never indicated I was ready to leave. I found this to be very odd. I chalked it up to him being introverted and maybe not wanting to be at a busy restaurant anymore, or he was trying to rush the date. He wanted me to go to his place to meet his dog, probably trying to hook up but I wasn't interested in that.
He texted me right after our date saying he wanted to see me again, and I agreed. The next day, he texted me once in the morning and didn't text me the whole rest of the day, even though before our date we would text frequently throughout the day. Because of this, I decided to cut him off, due to the weird behavior of rushing the date and not texting me. He was upset by this and felt as if I didn't really give him a chance, and again indicated he wanted to keep seeing me.
I'm not sure if I'm just traumatized by my ex and my trust issues are making me push him away or what. Was I judging him too soon or was my reaction warranted because of his behavior?
