DPS. How do you kill against an oppressive team when your tanks aren't making space?

Got to play DPS this reset. I always play Tank and make space but I find it very different to be playing as DPS hahaha, Problem is I'm bad/not good enough to kill when my tanks aren't making space unless I'm wolv and kidnap enemy tanks or it's an isolated 1v1.

Do you stay back or move with the tank if they aren't making space/pressure? Use them as cover? Played with a Peni that just webs up to high ground and sit there and idk if I should use her as cover or be in a different angle/position.

I played very poorly that game, I could've hit more shots but I struggle to stay alive as DPS. (I live more as Tank/Strat)
