BWT, what are bridal shower "wishing wells"? What are we gifting if we aren't close to the bride?
Hello all! I have been invited to the bridal shower of a distant cousin I don't see often. The invitation specifically states that we are doing a "wishing well" activity in which guests bring a gift symbolizing our hopes and dreams for future of the new couple. This is the first time I have heard of such a ritual and, since I'm not particularly close to the bride and have never met her husband-to-be, I don't know what to bring that would be sufficiently thoughtful. Has anyone else been in this position? Could any of you shed some light on what this tradition is, and how it has panned out at other bridal showers you've attended?
Side note, but important enough to mention: this cousin is sober, so something like a set of wine glasses for hosting would be inappropriate.
Thank you in advance.
