Applied for 11mo lease with signing deal for $2944mo, told after being accepted the deal only applies to 12mo lease for $3258mo (Location: San Diego, CA)

Landlord Tenant Housing

Location: San Diego, California

I applied for an apartment after being told the monthly rent was $2944 & it would come with a 2-months free & $1500 credit signing deal. I got this all in writing from the leasing consultant.

When I applied later that day on their website the only lease contract that was for $2944 was an 11-month contract. I applied for that contract which cost $120 & a $200 deposit & was accepted.

After being accepted the leasing consultant came back & told me the 2-months free deal only applied to the 12-month contract which would have a rent of $3258.

Is this legal? It feels like a bait & switch which when I looked it up is illegal but I’m not entirely sure. I was given a fees & deposits paper that says:

$2944 (no contract length specified) Two months free + 1500 off look/lease
