Film about people stuck in a car, horror theme?

There are only a few movies that I've watched many years ago and can't figure out what they are, and this is one of them. Any help would be appreciated!

I believe this film is considered thriller / horror themed. The basic premise is that a group of friends / young adults go on a trip somewhere. I *think* the setting is snow related. Their car ends up getting broken / stuck somewhere out in the wilderness. The movie then is kind of a slow burn, where the characters start seeing ghostly / unsettling images outside. Eventually I think the only two people left are the couple (guy and girl), and they end up leaving the car to try to look for help.

The movie came out from around early 2000s, latest being 2015 but I'm thinking it was in the 2003 to 2012 area. It's weird because I've found other films I've watched the entirety of that almost match this. Windchill is pretty close, as is The Truth Below. Both aren't it though. One of the unique things about the horror element in this movie is that from what I can recall, when it cuts to these creepy human like images outside the car the characters are seeing, they are genuinely unsettling; I don't think they are even that good CGI wise or anything, it's just the way they use them, almost reminding me of Silent Hill or something.
