Just had my behavioral health C&P exam. Can anyone give me insight if I messed up.
She wasn't very open, it was more so just going down the list of questions.
Long story short I had a few injury's during service. But the main one was a severe skin infection that covered my whole body ( and now left scarring) but during that time frame of my infection I constantly asked for medical help and attention and instead of help I got rude and disrespectful comments from my leadership who told me to go quarantine in my room as a solution.
It progressively got worse which caused high anxiety and the lack of sympathy and help while I was in extreme pain and discomfort. I eventually got help by a higher up who noticed but by then the skin infected was so bad my whole body was blistered which is why it left such bad scarring & I still to this day have to use steroid treatment to keep it at bay as it flares up.
After that I became very closed off & reserved to myself which wasn't how I was.
After getting out I still suffer from depression, anxiety & suicidal thoughts with NO intent to do so because of how poorly my unit was & how I was treated, it progressively gets worse. I'm not the same person I was before joining and it's affected my civilian life now as l'm a closed book with very few friends.
So the thing is, I did mention that I was on ADHD medication since December 2024 ( got out in 2022). I was never on medication before joining but after I got out with all my symptoms my primary health Dr. wanted me to try adhd medication due to anxiety, lack of concentration, lack of motivation ect.
I initially thought it was a good idea to mention that as it shows I'm trying to get help but I don't want the VA to think that my symptoms are because of my medication.
I'm not sure how the VA disability reviewers are but l'm not worried that my symptoms & conditions will be put off from service related since I'm on medication.
I clearly explained to my C&P examiner how all my symptoms started in service and now affect my daily life outside of the military and that the medication that I'm currently on for "ADHD" has neither improved or worsened my conditions.
Are there any VSOs or VA reviewers that could give me insight on if I made a mistake by mentioning that.
