Thoughts on Liberty?
Have been sitting on my acceptance to Liberty. I paid the seat deposit already. It’s about an hour from my current residence, so I could technically commute.
Stats are 3.low, 15low.
They gave me $20k/year scholarship so I would need to take loans for the other $22k, plus living expenses.
I also got accepted to Ohio Northern University’s Online part time JD program with $45k scholarship total across 90 credits. Their class filled up fast, though, so I had to defer until fall 2026. I could feasibly get a job and pay my way through with minimal debt.
I’m leaning heavily toward Liberty, but the debt load could be a lot if I take tuition + living expenses.
Their estimated CoA is $72k. I have VA disability which pays me approx $20k/year but no GI bill/education benefits, so if I take $40-$50k/year I’d owe approximately $120-150k at the end.
Thoughts? I don’t want to move to Lynchburg (my sibling will be going to my Alma mater, so we’ll be maintaining our rental).
