Sincere question: why are cutaway gags missed?

I'm not saying you can't miss them but I just never liked them. Lukewarm take, I know, but I regularly rewatch death battle in its entirety every couple of weeks and they're always the part I dread the most. Is there something im missing? Not trying to be contrarian or go against the grain. Just curious.
