take dolls to NYC?

HI, we are going on a big trip to Europe this summer, and will stop in NY on the way for several days. We have AG doll store booked, including treatments, but now I am getting cold feet about taking the dolls to NY. If we do, we will have to ship them home, because we simply cannot do our Europe trip with two big dolls with us, as it is too complicated and we need to minimize our luggage (I want to just take one small roller bag for each person on our trip). do you think it is worth taking them from the West Coast to NYC, and doing the whole experience, which also includes a full day, because we have a Taylor Swift walking tour that afternoon? Or just go and enjoy the atmosphere without our dolls? For context, my girls are 6 and 10. I know they would enjoy taking the dolls. If anyone knows shipping costs or tips to send them back home before we fly out, much appreciated. My daughters get tired just taking them to the movies, etc. Thanks for your input!
