(Old-ish) Used Receiver Advice Needed (Germany ~150€ Budget)

Purchasing EU/UK

Hey everyone,

I’m currently working on improving my desk listening setup and could use a bit of advice. Right now, Im using a receiver that unfortunately doesnt have a phono input and groundings, which makes using my record player (Onkyo CP-1000A) a bit hard. So I figured its time for an upgrade and since Ive always loved the aesthetic of older gear, Im looking into vintage receivers from the 80s or 90s.

Im not trying to get a crazy flagship model or anything too collectible/rare. Budget is around 150€ max on the used market. What Im really after is something that looks nice on the desk, sounds solid, and has what I need: phono input and ideally a way to connect a subwoofer.

Ive been eyeing a few Onkyo receivers, especially the TX-35 in white and the TX-7240 (also in white). I love the minimal clean front panels, silver knobs, that whole vibe. I think something like that would pair really nicely with the rest of my setup, especially since Im using KEF Q350s

One thing Im a little unsure about tho is how to best integrate a subwoofer with some of these vintage receivers. I know a lot of them dont have dedicated sub outs, so if anyone has experience with workarounds, Id love to hear your thoughts.

Basically just looking for recommendations on models to look for, or things to avoid. If anyone has a favorite vintage receiver that fits the bill phono input, subwoofer connection possibility, and good looks Id really appreciate the input!

Thanks in advance! 😊
