Never given a chance

Does anyone else feel like because of the fuck ups they were delta as parents in life they were always lagging behind in life. What I mean is it's like your were borne without the shot of a fair chance. Every reason you need therapy was because of them. Feeling like you hit life milestones about 5-8 years after most people.

Things like learning that the silent treatment they would give you when they were upset was actually abuse and not how responsible and mature adults communicate and solve issues. Learning to regulate emotions and that actually getting loud and overreacting is foolish and the wrong way to handle things. Learning how to function as an independent adult without needing permission or validation to do something. Learning what love actually is and how to show it to someone and how someone should show it to you.

What sucks is most of us I have realized we're forced to teach these things to ourself by observation or trial and error ourselves. Other things we learn by the internet or by crossing paths with a wise coworker.classmate, teacher ect.

I know this rambled but does anyone else know what I'm trying to say?
