Is Halloween 3… overrated?
It sounds kind of ridiculous given the film’s history as being considered the black sheep of the franchise, but since then it’s had quite the renaissance. Only sometimes… I dunno. I feel like people go a little overboard with their praise. The film is held down a lot by the romance subplot, which slows down the pacing and is frankly uncomfortable to watch.
Then you have Cochran’s plan, which is patently absurd when viewed outside of an emotional lens. Like yeah, it’s cataclysmic and horrific, but what’s his motivation?
I do love the music, and the creepy atmosphere throughout. The ending is iconic, absolutely. But altogether it’s a fairly uneven and absurd movie.
