I have a problem

I've hunted the legendary ram, skinned it and put the skin on the horse, but I've lost it, because it's not in the horse's inventory even though I can see it. I've loaded game and logged out and back into the game, but it's still there. I don't have any game saves from before I killed the animal, except for one at 53%, but I'm at 63% of the game, and I don't want to have to replay all that again...

Also, I've been to the trapper, but he won't let me make the clothes out of that skin because ‘I don't have it’. And I've spent the necessary days so that the skin is lost and the trapper allows me to buy the ram's clothes, but this time he won't let me. On the map I see the icon of having killed the animal, but it doesn't show its body (the golden footprint). If the body doesn't come out, it should let me buy the clothes, but it seems that the game detects the skin on the horse and that's why the body can't disappear. Can anyone help me?
