Advice for a student who wants to do Mech E + Comp Tech?

Hi again everyone, I have applied to Mech E + Comp Tech Dual Degree program at University of Ottawa with a 87.67% average with my top 6 courses. I applied just a week ago, so I am not sure if I am getting in. If I do get in, whats some advice you knew as a first year eng student?

I am trying to stay in residence for the first year just to get used to living by myself and to make friends. Is the meal plan worth it if I live in a residence where it's not mandatory to get the meal plan? What are some good residences? How do they pick your roommates? Will I really have no social life? 😂

I know engineering is hard and with the addition of another degree, I am aware it is difficult. What are some tips to do well in the program?

I am not familiar with coop at all. I tried to look up info about it online, but I found it very confusing. What's the GPA I have to maintain? When do I apply? Is it fairly easy to get coop, or do I have to have some personal projects? If I do get a job, will work-school balance be adjustable? Will I get the chance to get coop for Mech Eng or Comp Tech related jobs? Or both?

Sorry, I know it's a lot of questions. Any answers will be appreciated!! Thank you
