How I’ve Managed Nausea on Semaglutide

Wanted to share a few things that have helped me manage the nausea while on semaglutide — especially for anyone just starting or dealing with lingering side effects. Everyone’s different, but here’s what’s worked for me:

  1. Ear seeds (acupressure) – I’ve been using ear seeds on the nausea/motion sickness pressure points (you can Google placement charts). I was surprised at how much this helped during my worst days.
  2. Ginger everything – Ginger tea (the stronger the better!) has been a go-to. I also love Gin Gins ginger candies — they’re convenient and seem to calm my stomach.
  3. Hydration – Staying consistently hydrated has made a huge difference. I sip water or herbal tea all day, especially when I know I’ve eaten less or feel off.
  4. Regular meals with protein + veggies – Skipping meals or going too long without food makes the nausea worse. I aim for smaller meals with a solid protein + veggie combo. And even if I don’t feel up for a big meal, I’ll still eat something light like a yogurt + fruit bowl, soup, or turkey + avocado roll-ups. Getting something in makes a difference.
  5. Sea Bands – These wristbands use pressure points and work similar to the ear seeds. I wear them when I feel it creeping in and they usually take the edge off.
  6. Watching saturated fat – This one might be unique to me, but I’ve noticed heavy meals or foods high in saturated fat (like cheese, cream, fried stuff) trigger nausea more than anything else. Keeping meals lighter but nutrient-dense has helped.

Hope this helps someone! Would love to hear what’s worked for you too.
