How do I find out if I am dating the right person? I (24M) am dating a (22F) after being FWB for 5 months and I broke it off but after 2 months we decided to try a proper relationship. I 24M and 22F started dating a few weeks ago. We were friends with benefits before for 5 months so I think I know her well enough and now I don't know if I am doing the right thing dating her and I need to know if I am doing the correct thing.

Some back story, We were friends with benefits for five months. Everything went well. Until we ran into the first hurdle. She was sitting on top of me, and I was kissing her neck. And then out of nowhere, she slapped me, and I threw her off me. She tried to make it my fault that I threw her and that I could have hurt her, but I would not have thrown her off if she had not slapped me. She disagreed with me until I went home as I could not have found a compromise with her. She would have slapped me before playfully If I bit or tickled her, but she slapped me in an angry manner in that instance. She slapped me before unexpectedly as well and apologized profusely for it, but I never understood why this would happen. After a few days of not talking and not trying to fix this situation, which I totally disagreed with as I don't like problems to fester, she came over and started talking to me and she said that she thought that I bit her but it was that it was my beard scratching her neck. She never apologized for hitting me during that situation even though I did for throwing her off me.

The second hurdle we ran into was one night she went for a quiz with her friends, and I was supposed to pick her up and spend the night with her. She asked me to drop off a friend that I have never met home And I said no. All I wanted to do was spend the night with her and not be some taxi driver for one of her friends that I do not even know. I would have understood if the friend lived near her house, but he lived in a completely opposite direction. I also spent the day working on a college assignment and was tired. I explained everything to her, but she was just angry. She was drunk and started arguing with me and I said I do not want to deal with this right now and I just went home.

The next day I decided that I was going to break it off with her as she was stressing me out and stress is not good for my heart’s health due to my heart situation right now. When I told her my plan she started crying and she said that she loved me, and she could change whereas before whenever I mentioned anything that I did not like in her, she would say the door is over there, if you do not like it, leave. During the five months with this girl, I was incredibly open, and I told her everything, whereas she was closed off like a door. On that one day of breaking up with her, I learned more about her than I did in the span of the five months that we were together.

On the two-month break we had she asked our mutual friends about me, how I was, etc. After two months she texted me and asked me for closure as I never really gave it to her. And I told her what was on my mind and why I hadn't talked for two months. When we were together, I was in hospital for a month with a heart issue. She visited me quite often, which I find caring. Once I came out of the hospital, I had weird health issues that I never had before. I wanted just to be alone because I was not able to do all the things I loved doing, such as going gym or driving my car due to the heart condition. I was in a bad place mentally during that time. Once I started opening to her, the next thing I knew she came back to my house. She was standing at my door, and I felt like she was my missing piece. My heart felt much better seeing her and I just gave in straight away. The next day we got together and spoke about getting into a relationship and what we expected of each other.

In the next two weeks I learned a few things about her. I show my love by being touchy and feely whereas I still don't know how she shows me her love. She only shows me any sort of loving attention when she needs something.

For example, I am writing this post as I ran into an issue, a weird issue with her. Today I cooked dinner for both of us. She came over, ate the dinner, enjoyed it, and then we were cuddling. We started play fighting and she accidentally head butted my nose. I laughed it off and decided to get her back. I pinned her down and playfully licked her nose. After that, her attitude towards me changed. She had to go and pick up her mother. On the way out she told me that she doesn't like it whenever I touch her nose. So, in my eyes it is ok for her to hit me and I must laugh it off because I am a man, but whenever I do anything to her such as tickling her or biting her playfully it becomes a huge issue (I would never lay my hands on a woman as I was brought up that way) . I am the sort of guy that when there is an issue, I like to sort it out straight away, whereas she leaves the house angry at me and the only way this will get sorted will be when I reach out first and start the conversation about the issue on hand.

Previously I was in her four-year relationship with a girl where if any issue came up, we would sort out straight up on the spot. We never argued, never had any such stupid issues like I am have with this girl. The problem is I love this current girl I am seeing. On her good days she is amazing, we have our laughs, and we spend quality time together but if something happens that she doesn't like I feel like that the end of the world.

Any advice would be extremely helpful as this is only my second serious relationship and don't really have anyone to talk to about it. Thank you guys.
