(Homeowners/Ohio) tips for going through a water claim? what percentage can I expect my premiums to go up by for a water claim?
My sink overflowed due to my toddler plugging the sink and leaving it running. I have a lot going on in life right now with my health so I panicked and called my insurance company to make a claim. Stupid mistake but it’s already done. They’re assigning an adjuster tomorrow and hopefully mitigation will get started. It leaked from the 1st floor bathroom, out to half of our hallway (vinyl flooring), and through the floor to the unfinished part of our basement. I was scared of mold starting so that’s why I was fast at calling them.
What tips do you have for me to go through this? I’ve been taking tons of pictures and videos.
How much can I expect my homeowners to go up by if I don’t get nonrenewed/canceled. I know it’s hard to say but if you had to guess. This is my first claim. I am currently with progressive and just switched to them this year.
