travel scam

My parents got a mailer inviting them to attend the local "Travel & Cruise Showcase" - in exchange for our time and opinion we'd receive "a complimentary 8 day/7 night cruise to your choice of Alaska or Caribbean including complimentary airfare from most major international airports."

It also says "This is not a timeshare or real estate solicitation." 🤔

Small print says "valid for two adults. Recipient is responsible for port fees, taxes, and agency fees."

Its a scam. They wont give you the cruise unless you buy a membership to their travel discount company. You will get discounts but those discounts are available for free elsewhere. By the time you are done paying fees to use the offer you aren't saving much, but you are obligating yourself to a lot. And the free airfare is a whole other voucher you have apply and submit and wait. They also as a perk gave them 4 night stay in Orlando, but the phone number and emails don't seem to work. So its all vouchers and good luck using them especially without paying even more than you will at the meeting.
