What did aunt lydia mean???

In season 2 before holly/Nichole is born there's a moment when June asks aunt lydia to protect the baby and be her god mother and aunt lydia says I was the god mother to my sister's baby... The baby lived four days. The June says I'm sorry.. the aunt lydia says it wasn't my fault. I found that line very curious. Like what did she mean by that
