Regarding last post on Fore
Just to clarify my last post — I am not trying to demean FORE or anyone associated with it. Everyone’s experience is different, and I’m simply sharing mine so that future aspirants can make a more informed decision before investing two crucial years of their life and a significant amount of money at this place.
When I joined FORE, I had a lot of hopes, just like many others. I expected a strong learning environment, valuable exposure, and promising career opportunities. But the reality was quite different. One of the biggest issues is the growing batch size. Every year, the intake increases, but the number of quality companies visiting the campus does not. This leads to extremely tough competition for very few good roles, and many students — even the capable ones — are left with subpar placements or no offers at all. It feels like the focus is on quantity over quality, which directly affects our experience.
Another major drawback is the campus itself. It’s very small and cramped which might not seem like a big deal at first, but it limits almost everything from events and networking opportunities to just having a space where you can breathe and feel like you’re part of a thriving B-school environment. The infrastructure does not support the kind of student life or activities you’d expect from a premium management institute.
As for placements, the harsh truth is that the names you see on brochures and websites can be very misleading. While a few top companies do come, the number of roles they offer is minimal. A large chunk of the batch ends up getting placed in sales roles with average salaries and little scope for long-term career growth. Core roles in marketing, finance, consulting, or analytics are limited and fiercely competitive. The gap between expectations set during admission and the actual opportunities available is significant.
Moreover, the support system here is lacking. There’s minimal mentorship, little career guidance, and students are largely left to figure things out on their own. For an institute that charges such high fees, the return on investment both financially and academically is honestly questionable.
So, to anyone considering FORE — please, do your research. Don’t just rely on LinkedIn posts or placement reports. Speak to current students, reach out to recent alumni, and ask them tough questions. Find out what it’s really like beyond the marketing. MBA is a major decision, and it’s better to know the full picture now than regret it later. I wish someone had shared this with me before I made my decision.
