Formatting external Hard-drive for IPad AND Windows?
Hello Reddit! I am trying to get into recording content for YouTube, and a problem I have is that I’d highly prefer to not edit at my desk, as I am recording for so long at my desk already.
I have an iPad where I’m slowly learning how to use CapCut to edit software. The only problem is, well, I can’t edit on my iPad is the footage is saved to my computer, as far as I know.
so, my solution involves an external hard drive, saving the footage directly to the hard-drive and then connecting it to my iPad to edit.
Unfortunately, my hard-drive isn’t appearing when I plug it into my windows 11 OS computer. Like, it makes the noise, it shows up as a connected devices, but there’s no option to open the hard drive and view its contents.
My dad says that is possibly because it’s formatted in a way so the hard-drive can only be read by IOS.
Does anyone have any idea how I’d format it to work with both my computer and my iPad? Or if there’s any other reason it could be not connecting, how to fix that?
Thank you for reading! I appreciate any and all thoughts you may have, and I Hope you have a great day!
(PS I’m not sure if this is more hardware or software related so I’m putting in hardware but if I need to change I can try to change it!)
