Party OCD Win!

possible trigger warning, weed mention

Recently I went to my sister's bacholorette. It involved a lot of shared food, shared alcohol. Sleeping in a different place with people i don't know that well. Just all the triggers you could think.

Surprisingly I had no issues with the food sharing at all! There wasn't even a moment where i had to manage any anxiety regarding it! But here in Canada weed is legal, and i had gotten so comfortable with feeling safe i left my cbg at the front door entrance for anyone to mess with or touch. On accident as i just didn't think to move it. At the end of the night of drinking when I wanted to smoke a little i realized how dumb I had been leaving it for everyone to have access to. I had a couple of seconds of worry but then I realized "they had access to all the food in the house and they have been respectful and trusting for that, why would it magically change just because it's weed?" (Just so everyone is aware this was a group of family close friends so also I trusted them in that way too) i was able to smoke some of my weed and not have a panic attack.

I even smoked it later on when I got home. Please be careful about your recreational drugs and every situation is different. I was with people that I know were there for my sister and that I trusted.

I am very proud of myself for being able to rationalize this situation and come to a conclusion that made me feel safe! Also the bacholorette was a success! I'm so happy that I've gotten to a place with my ocd and anxiety that I was able to have fun and not make the situation about me and my anxieties like what had happened at the beginning of covid. I set some comfortable boundaries and still made sure the day was about my sister <3
