My indie app just hit 23K Units & #166 in US Productivity – sharing stats & what I learned from a free campaign
Hey everyone!
I’m a solo indie dev, and I recently ran my first Apps Gone Free campaign for my iOS keyboard extension app FluxKey — and I just wanted to share some numbers and the experience for anyone curious or on a similar journey.
📊 Here’s what the campaign did:
- 📲 ~23,000 Units in 2 days
- 🇺🇸 #166 in the Productivity category on the US App Store
- ⭐️ 662 new reviews (mostly positive 🙏)
- 💬 Tons of great user feedback that’s shaping the next version
I’ll be honest — I didn’t expect this kind of spike, especially without a huge following or marketing budget. The campaign gave me visibility I never had before and sparked real user engagement.
I’m currently working on the next version with features users requested like swipe typing, AZERTY support, more languages, better UI, and even custom AI prompt templates.
If you’re building something — keep pushing. It’s wild what can happen with the right visibility and timing.
Thanks to everyone who supported the launch, downloaded the app, or dropped feedback.
