Where should I go in Vietnam? (Annoying visitor question)

Travel/Du lịch

Hi all!

I live in northern Thailand and am looking to take a 5-10 day break for my first visit to Vietnam.

It's looking like a combination of Hoi An/Hanoi outskirts/Da Nang are going to be where I aim. Sound right? Sa Pa and Ninh Bình sound cool for a couple days.

For the Wishlist, I like:

  • Small format, high-service local oriented coffee culture.
  • Small, high-service local bars. (usually gin, beer and whisky)
  • Quality food, Michelin, vegetarian.
  • Old architecture, conversion architecture. (into bars, restaurants, cafes)
  • Small, quiet, ideally low-commerciality beach.

Thanks and sorry - I know these posts pop up a lot, but maybe some of the specificity will challenge your recommendation kung fu.
