Lawyer overcharging what to do?

:22px-Flag_of_Quebec:Quebec

I hired a lawyer upon referral to double check a single page agreement.

I knew the agreement wasn’t binding but still wanted to double check with a lawyer to confirm what I thought.

The agreement is one single page very short and very vague.

I talked to him 2 minutes to get his email to send the agreement the day after he called me to give his answer and took 1 minute to tell me and I spent 3 asking questions.

What he told is that there wasn’t much to analyse or work with because it was so simple and not binding by either party.

I never got sent a bill until 6 months later for 2100$ and 4 hours of work and nothing to show for it no documents no analysis for me to refer to. Nothing. I answered saying that I thought there was a mistake and they said no mistakes that’s the bill. Then I asked to explain how it took 4 hours and turns out it was phone time with unrelated people ?

I paid for lawyers in the past and for 2000$ I got a lot more. Detailed analysis, documents, redacted letters etc

I feel that is overcharging or maybe there might be more behind the scene?

Did he charge me 1h of his time for each 5 minutes phone calls(2)?

Can anyone help me make sense of this or is he really overcharging me and abusing?
