In the market for a new hatchback

In Canada, budget incl. tax is 38’000. I’ve looked at and test driven Subaru Crosstrek and Hyundai Kona - those are the idea size and trunk space for what I’m looking for. I have a mountain bike I want to bring places so sedans are a no-go, looking for something that is AWD and would last me 150’000km+ as it’ll be my main vehicle for the next 10 years.

One of my mates has been helping me with the general decision - he’s pretty well-versed in car stuff and way more up-to-date on reliability stuff and general vibes about brands than I am. Strongly recommends against Hyundai in favour or Honda/Subaru/Toyota.

I guess the question is, does anyone have any AWD recommendations for a 2025 hatchback vehicle?
