Headphones that DON’T get improved from eq/autoeq?

Hey all,

As the title says, are there any headphones that don’t get any sort of improvement from EQ? Excluding any personal sound metrics or preference, every headphone that I’ve used auto eq on is improved in one way or another.

It improves cheap gaming headsets from bad to surprisingly good, it can even manage to improve the strange metallic timbre of the Elegias. On my XS, it effectively ’cleans’ up the sound. Stuff just sounds clearer after eq.

What do you all think about this matter? I’m still very much in the budget space of headphones, so maybe expensive cans don’t really need it. I don’t know.
