I miss you.
I miss you. I miss your face in my eyes, your place in my heart. Did I throw something real away, something long-term, for short-term pain?
Now I’m conflicted, and my tears burn. My insides are torn; I don’t know how to feel. My heart hurts I miss calling your name and feeling I’m understood. I miss seeing your pain and feeling I understood.
I miss you. I miss your face in my eyes, your place in my heart. Did I throw something real away, something long-term, for short-term pain?
I miss your hair, your place, your words, your grace. I miss your flow, your joy every day. I miss your yellow, your gray, your blue, the stains on my heart that never fade through. You were my still ocean, a calm I yearn. Now I’m a river, lost at each turn.
My heart hurts
I hope there’s another life where we mix, in some far-off spiritual sense, because in this life, things will never be the same again.
I hear your waves every night, ghosts of a sea I used to know. Now I’m torn up, mixed up, with nowhere to go.
And I’ll never know a place to be held again. I’ll never have a rock, an island I can go to spend. Because in this life, things will never be the same again.
I miss you, I miss your soul.
I miss your strength.
I miss what I had in you: a home.
