Can costo really go away?

Vent

First I want to start by saying I'm very thankful for this group. It has helped a lot knowing I'm not alone and so many people feel the same way. 31F, extremely active prior to costo....been symptomatic for 1 month now. I was lifting weights and running regularly since middle school with no issues.

I have taken weeks off from working out, slowly introduced leg days, walking, and no running. I use the backpod am/pm. Additionally I was taking naproxen 500mg twice daily for a good week or two in hopes of relief.

Since my symptoms started I finally had an upper body day at the gym a few days ago. I went very light and tried to avoid any exercises that used the chest muscles. Well some may say I was naive for that but, I've been having a flare up since. The pain is in the middle of my sternum and under my lower left breast area.

I know a lot of people will say I cannot work out at all for months. I obviously am miserable and want my normal active lifestyle back. I have read so many threads, articles, and anecdotal accounts of what works to treat/cure costo.

I guess I'm feeling discouraged..I don't know what else to do. I don't want to stop living and lose the habits that give me joy however I cannot go years dealing with this costo pain like some have.

Lastly. I do have forward head posture, and hyperkyphosis. I have been to the chiropractor, the ER and was cleared for any serious/heart related issues. I have also been trying to stretch more, foam roll, and implement an anti-inflammatory diet.

I apologize for the long post and appreciate any feedback 🫶🏻
