Can someone explain his behaviour ?

I was in a situationship with someone I liked. Everything was going fine until one day he left me on delivered. I didn’t message him again, and we basically stopped talking for like 5 months. Recently, I removed him from my private account because I didn’t see the point of keeping him there, but I still had him on my public one.

One day, I decided to text him because I still think about him. I just wanted to check in and see how he was doing. He seemed surprised and said he didn’t expect me to DM him again after all that time. He apologized and said he thought there was no chance with me anymore when he saw I removed him from my private story.

I was kinda surprised but also really happy. We started talking and flirting for two days, and I even suggested that we meet up since he lives only 10 minutes away. He agreed… but then out of nowhere, he ghosted me again. I didn’t do anything.

Then yesterday, he texted saying he thought he saw me in a car but wasn’t sure if it was really me. I said, “Maybe it was me, I didn’t see you though.” Then, again… he disappeared.

The next day, I texted him asking why he ghosted me and why he acts like this. He said he was hungover and didn’t use his phone. I told him I’m not blaming him, I just want to understand what’s going on. He replied with, “Yeah right, doesn’t seem like you’re not blaming me.” Then he disappeared again.
