How Far Can We Take Proxies?

Working on my Iron Warriors kit and I decided to include a couple units of Traitor Guardsmen. Then I saw my local game shop has a couple good Sororitas units in stock.
Can I (legally) use Sisters as proxies for Guardsmen? They are just human and if the gear fits then...

This is both a rules question and a flair question I guess.
