short-term living options in or around Twin Cities

My wife and I are looking for short-term living options in or around the Twin Cities.

We just sold our house and doubt we'll find and close on a new home before the closing date of our place. Ideally we'd be able to rent or lease on a monthly basis rather than commit to something like a 6- or 12-month lease. That would give us maximum flexibility to purchase another home (in or around the Twin Cities).

Wondering if Redditors have any suggestions for resources that would help us locate a place? A friend mentioned that AirB&B offers some options, so we're going to look at that, but curious if there are other things we can check out, too. Oh, and I should mention we have a cat.
